The expiration of the initial password for the Unified Authentication System used for e-mail, etc (for students who enrolled in April and staff who arrived in April)

The same notice is also posted on the ACCC web page.

The initial password for the Unified Authentication System notified to you by card or other means will expire if you do not change it within the specified period.

If your initial password for the Unified Authentication System has expired (i.e., you can no longer log in), you will need to have your password reissued (reset). You can have your password reissued at the nearest university library with your student ID card. Please refer to the following.

(Fixed) Failure to display part of screen in Active! mail

The following problems have been confirmed to occur in certain browsers.

1) The input field on the login screen is moved to the left side.
2) Mail composing (reply, forwarding, etc.) screen does not display properly.
3) Smaller fonts across the screen.

Web browsers and versions with known problems

a) Google Chrome (version released on March 30 or later)
b) Microsoft Edge (browser version 100 or later released on April 4)

We are planning to update Active! mail to a supported version.
Until then, please use Thunderbird or other email software if you experience this problem.

Network Maintenance (Feb. 23, 2022 12:00-13:00)

SINET5 (the upstream line that our university uses for external connections), which is provided by the National Institute of Informatics, will be replaced by SINET6.
During the connection change work, communication with off-campus and communication between Tsukuba Campus, Tokyo Campus, and related facilities will be temporarily disconnected.

Request to move files on the Web server (the 3rd announcement)

[Target users]

Those who publish web pages on the Zengaku Computer System with the following URLs are eligible. (Those who use “http” instead of “https”).
Other users are not eligible.

[Impact]

Web pages that have been published will no longer be viewable.

[How to fix it]

If you have HTTP web contents on the web server of the Zengaku Computer System, please migrate them to HTTPS web contents by the end of January 2022. For details, please refer to the following URL.

The current plan is to change the configuration so that HTTP access to www will be redirected to HTTPS access to wwws during the scheduled maintenance in February 2022.
Note: The redirection will not allow you to view the contents in the www directory.

Request for Confirmation that the Java (JDK) of the Zengaku Computer System will be Changed.

Due to licensing reasons, the Zengaku Computer System provided OpenJDK instead of Oracle JDK as the Java (JDK).
Now  that the Oracle JDK is available for free, we will change the Java (JDK) for the Zengaku Computer System to the Oracle JDK
during this spring holiday.
