E-mail Client Settings (@u.tsukuba.ac.jp)

SMTP, IMAP, and POP are not available in Outlook, Mac, or iOS email clients. You can read and write email by adding an Exchange account.

To use your @u address with an email client, please refer to the following information as a reference.
To use your @s address, enter your @s email address as the user name, and enter the password you set up in https://m365setting.u.tsukuba.ac.jp/ (accessible only from within the campus network. If you are accessing from outside the campus network, please use the “Microsoft Products” → “Microsoft 365 password and multi-factor authentication enablement settings” menu on the Academic Computing and Communications Center portal site) with @s as the password.

Available SMTP, IMAP and POP clients

Software other than Microsoft’s Outlook and Apple’s standard email software will need to be registered by the M365 administrator.

Update 5/19/2023: As with other Microsoft 365 (e.g. Teams), it is now our policy not to register software that requires administrator approval.
Exceptions are Thunderbird and the mail client for people with disabilities. Other registered email clients will be considered for deregistration in the future.
